Owen's adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION transferred to The Wyndhams Theatre for its West End run in 2009.
Owen's play FINDING MIKE JAGGER - the show with the ultimate twist - wowed audiences in Edinburgh 2004 and was snapped by by Granada Television. Owen is currently developing the script as a one-off television drama.
His semi autobiographical adventures THE DANNY MULLIGAN SHOW (developed from his cult stage show) will be broadcast on Radio 4 in November.

His television comedy series THE FITZ (about a family whose home traverses the Irish border and who are consequently subject different laws in the kitchen than in their bedrooms) was produced by Tiger Aspect/BBC and began broadcasting in August 2000. Current work includes GAGGING FOR IT for the BBC with Sean Hughes.
Owen's earlier television play, ARISE AND GO NOW, a black comedy about priests, pigeons, the IRA and W B Yeats was broadcast in the BBC's Screenplay series. It received critical acclaim:

Owen wrote and starred in SHOOTING TO STARDOM broadcast on Channel 4's He Play/She Play series. This film won the Irish Short Film Award at the 1992 Cork Film Festival.
PATRICK'S DAY, a two-hander for the theatre, was written with Sean Hughes. Owen and Sean performed this at the 1991 Edinburgh Festival winning the Edinburgh Critics' Award for Best Comedy.
As a stand-up Owen performs all over the UK and Ireland. He regularly appears on the London Comedy Circuit at The Comedy Store and Jongleurs. He made his TV debut on Saturday Live in 1986 and has since performed on numerous TV shows including Just for Laughs at the 1993 Montreal Comedy Festival for Channel Four and The South Bank Show for LWT. In 1994 his one-man stage show IT'S A BIT LIKE THIS was shortlisted for the Perrier Award.
Owen's 1997 one-man show OFF MY FACE won the LWT Comedy Writing Award at the Edinburgh Festival:

Owen has been commissioned by Antonine Films to write a feature based on the play.
His latest shage show IT WAS HENRY FONDA'S FAULT played at the Traverse Theatre during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2000.
