Lisa won the 1997 BBC Radio World Service Playwriting competition with her play ROCK ENDS AHEAD which was broadcast on the World in February '98 and on BBC Radio 4 in October 1998. ROCK ENDS AHEAD has also broadcast in translation on German radio. Her second radio play, BOW ECHO, was commissioned by Radio 4 and broadcast in November 1999. She is currently completing a new stage play.
Lisa's stage play THE BONES OF DANNY WINSTON AND RIB ANN MAGEE received a showcase rehearsed reading as part of the 1996 London New Play Festival and has been produced in Florida, Iowa and (in a translation by Laslo Upor) Hungary. The play is published in Hungary and was the first foreign play selected for Hungary's National Open Forum. Four other plays have been produced in America in Iowa and/or New York.
A graduate of the University of Iowa's renowned Writers' Workshop and Theatre Arts postgraduate degree courses, Lisa has received many awards and bursaries including the CEC International grant for collaborative projects in Eastern Europe, first prize in the Women's Playwriting Competition at the Tampa Center for Performing Arts and two scholarships for playwriting.
