Jaki is currently working on two new plays THE BOHEMIANS and BELFAST GIRLS
LEOPOLDVILLE was staged at the Tristan Bates Theatre in April 2010. It won the 2010 PapaTango New Writing Award and was selected by David Hare as a finalist in the Yale 2010 International Drama Series

It was also short listed for the Kings Cross Writing Award 2009 and was one of four plays selected for the Cavan Literary Festival, Virginia, Ireland, September 2008, presented by Livin’ Dred Theatre Company.
Jaki’s plays: THE MUSHROOM PICKERS was presented by Alloy Theater Company, the Gene Frankel Theater, New York in February 2009. It premiered at the Southwark Playhouse, May 2006, directed by Svetlana Dimcovic, starring Catherine Cusack, Caroline John and Michael Culkin. Winner of the 2005 Scottish Drama Association’s National Playwriting Competition.

Jaki has won numerous awards for her work including: Winner of the 2005 SCDA National Playwriting Competition, for THE MUSHROOM PICKERS, Shortlisted for the Sphinx Playwriting Award 2006, Bruntwood Prize 2006, Kings Cross Award 2007, for THE MOTH-HOUR, Shortlisted for the 2009 Adrienne Benham Award, for LEOPOLDVILLE and also for the 2009 Asham Award for short fiction, for THE CONGO.
Jaki studied at Trinity College, Dublin, gaining a Master of Philosophy Degree, Creative Writing – Distinction. Before this Jaki gained a B.A. Performing Arts, First Class Honours Degree at Middlesex University. She has completed an RNT Directors Course, 2001, Studied with Katie Mitchell, Peter Gill, William Gaskill and Nancy Meckler.
