Saul has just finished shooting MICRO MEN a feature length comedy drama for BBC4 starring Martin Freeman and Alexander Armstrong. 

Saul has recently been chosen to participate in Slingshot's Second Picture Syndrome.

Saul has directed films, documentaries, shorts and adverts.

His debut feature film was LATE NIGHT SHOPPING (Ideal World Films for FilmFour, Scottish Screen National Lottery Fund, Glasgow Film Office & Senator Film.) The film had its World Premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, where it was awarded the C.I.A.C.E. prize. Other prizes and nominations include:

Saul’s second feature film was GUY X (F&ME & Spice Factory for Film Consortium & Movision), which starred Jason Biggs, Natascha McElhone, Jeremy Northam & Michael Ironside.

 

The film premiered at the Taormina Film Festival, where it won prizes for Best Director and Best Actor (Jason Biggs). GUY X was released in cinemas in the UK and internationally.

Prior to directing, Saul studied Architecture at Robinson College, Cambridge University (1989-1992). In 1992 he attended a summer course at the Tisch School of Arts in New York, where he received his only formal film training. Subsequently, Saul worked as a Runner and Location Assistant on feature films, including SHALLOW GRAVE, SMALL FACES and TRAINSPOTTING.

 

From this time onwards, he was also making short films, adverts and documentaries - these include a film about the Hollywood actor, James Stewart (JAMES STEWART- LAST OF THE GOOD GUYS), a look at modern Danish cinema (THE NAME OF THIS FILM IS DOGME95), a architecture film (GILLESPIE, KIDD & COIA: LESSONS IN ARCHITECTURE) and a number of short films.
