Dave began his career in the North of England as a drummer in an incredibly unsuccessful rock band. Since laying down his drumsticks and graduating from the National Film & Television School, he has written and directed several short films including Playing Dead, which was screened and nominated at many International festivals including Cannes, London, Montreal, Munich and Krakow. In 2005 he won the French Critics Discovery Prize.

Last year Dave directed a series of shorts for Channel Four television which were broadcast in March and recently co-wrote on a feature script for FilmFour, Wildlife, about unruly inner-city youths on holiday in rural Wales.

He is currently attached as writer/director to a sci-fi film in development with the UKFC and Warp X.
