David’s writing career began when his story ‘The Fox and the Chicken’, an adaptation of an Aesops fable, appeared on the BBC’s ‘Jackanory’.

Since then he has collaborated with comedian and actress Kerry Godliman on their highly acclaimed sketch show ‘Godliman & Lane’ which they took to the 2006 Edinburgh Festival.

David has received several commissions from BBC Television to whom he has provided sketch material for various projects including the broadcast pilot for ‘Raging!’, ‘Asian Babes’ and ‘North by North North’.

David is currently developing his own Sit Com ‘Gary & Jo’ which has been optioned by BBC Comedy North.

David's new sitcom SPIT BUBBLE has recently been commissioned by Hartswood.

David also works as an actor and stand-up comic under the name David Lane.
