Josh and Simon met at Emmerdale, where a chat about their experiences as runners led to the idea for their first joint venture. THE RUNNER was quickly optioned by BBC Comedy and is now being developed with Micheál Jacob.
Other comedy pilots that Josh and Simon are developing include 99 PROBLEMS and SHOOK UP.
Josh’s TV career began in 2006, as a writer for Emmerdale’s new interactive channel. Meanwhile, he worked as a freelance journalist, writing regularly for The Guardian and The Jewish Chronicle, amongst others. He spent summer 2007 in the West Bank, co-writing a book on Israeli settlers, currently in negotiation with publishers.
Simon’s TV career began at BBC Comedy where he worked on BAFTA winners, Help!, The Thick Of It and Little Britain. From there he went on to write storylines for Emmerdale, where he became a script editor in 2006. Since then he has published over 150 scripts for the award winning soap.
