Having trained as an editor, Menhaj began his directing career in music/youth programmes for Channel 4, then going on to direct music videos and commercials.

His move to directing film came with the award winning JUMP BOY, followed by TUBE TALES.  He directed the ground breaking TV drama QUEER AS FOLK 2 and continued to direct prime time British TV dramas including MURPHY’S LAW and BLUE MURDER.

He directed the feature length pilot of the cult Ibiza comedy IS HARRY ON THE BOAT? for SKY TV.

“KIDULTHOOD” was his first feature film, which he directed and co-produced through his production company Stealth Films.

He is the winner of The Douglas Hickox Award at the British Independent Film Awards 2006, for Best Debut Director.

He executive produced and directed WEST10 LDN for Kudos/BBC.

He is currently developing several feature films:

DESPATCHED an action-thriller about a bicycle courier entangled in a conspiracy plot, set in London with Noel Clarke.

M-25 a youth movie about illegal street car racing, with DNA Films

COMEDOWN an urban horror film set in an abandoned tower block, with Serotonin Films
