LAURA BRIDGEMAN trained as an actor at E.15 Acting School before she started writing. She has an MA in Creative Writing from UEA where she was awarded the HSC Scholarship.
Her play commissions include: MAISON SPLENDIDE (London New Play’s Festival, Young Vic, 1996), JUNK (Gay Sweatshop, The Almeida, 1997), MEDICINE GIRL (Guinness Ingenuity Award, Etcetera Theatre,1997), ID 1000 (The National Youth Theatre G.B., 2007).
Her theatre funding includes:LOONATIK (The London Arts Board, 1997), .45 (The Arts Council of England, 2002), THERE IS NO WORD FOR IT, The Trans Mangina Monologues (The Arts Council of England, The Soho Theatre, 2009).
She has also written for BBC Radio 4, ETIQUETTE (2000).
Two of her short stories have been published: THE MUSTARDSEED SEDUCTION, Contains Small Parts (2003), GREGORY, Brand magazine, (2009).
Laura is currently working on a six-part TV series,CATERPILLARS co-written with Charles Lambert.
Laura is also working on a novel; RAPHAEL COOMBS, short-listed for the Charles Pick Fellowship 2007.
